REBEL G!RRRLS was created for women who want their clothing to reflect their strength and power in the world. The clothing is designed to provide unspoken confidence for women in the positions they hold, and although these clothes may not change the world, they will give confidence to the women who will make a difference. I created a rebellious business-inspired collection, empowering women to revolt against the gender norms within work environments and the outfits one must wear to their jobs. My hope with this collection is to redefine professional wear with garments women can feel powerful, confident, and ready to change the world in.
I was influenced by feminist punk artists, specifically Kathleen Hanna, the singer of Bikini Kill and Le Tigre. She was one of my first inspirations and she opened my eyes to see my own power. I was also inspired by designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen with their rebellious designs and ways of thinking.
